Psychotherapy

The hardest part is making the call

Asking for help may be one of the hardest steps to take.

You don’t know who I am or what to expect or if I’ll understand your struggles.

You’re thinking: “What am I going to talk about anyway? How is a therapist going to help me with my personal problems?” Opening up to a stranger can also feel embarrassing.

All these thoughts are normal

Now that you know your feelings of trepidation are normal you know you’re not alone.

And, if you’re reading this, you’re ready to make a change.

How do I know psychotherapy will work for me?

You don’t – until you try it. I could tell you about all the research that shows most people benefit from talk therapy and do better with it than without it even when taking medication – which is true.

But really, you are the best judge for what works for you.

What’s involved?

First, we have a 15-minute chat on the phone – a free consultation. If you think we’re a good fit, then we’ll schedule an 80-minute intake session in my office.

In your first session, I’ll help you establish treatment goals. We’ll decide what type of therapy will work best for you, which also includes frequency of visits.

Future sessions are 45 to 50 minutes each.

What types of therapy do you offer?

Individual Therapy
Couples Therapy
Group Therapy

Take the next step!

I will tailor treatment to best suit your needs, and you’ll give me regular feedback.

Therapy requires you to examine your feelings and the life patterns that have been holding you back. It’s uncomfortable, but we’ll work through this together.

One client recently said: “You knew just when I needed a push and when I just needed to be heard.
